Yesterday GG (Great-Grandma) Janet came over to visit her new great-granddaughter and to see her favorite great-grandson. Auntie Andrea also came over with Peanut and we had a very nice afternoon just talking while GG rocked Rory or chased Max around the house.

Max and Rory are so lucky to have such an energetic great-grandma! It was great to get some time with Grandma and Max loves the new toy she brought him. Rory...well she'll just have to learn that getting dressed is a good thing. Then she'll like all her new clothes!

It has been one heck of a week with our new addition. We came home from the hospital and Max developed a fever that day along with a nice runny nose cold. Dusty and I were lucky enough to also get the cold that Max had within a couple days so the first few days were rough. On top of that Rory was having digestive issues as her body adjusted to nursing. I was told to nurse on demand to help her get over her issues but nursing on demand with Rory meant almost non-stop which lead to tissue trauma for me. Yeah, the first week was a bit rougher than we expected but things are slowly getting better.

We are now supplementing formula at night for Rory. I need that time to heal for the following day's feedings and Rory seems to be thriving on this new schedule, she even slept 6 hours between a feeding last night! I also have to thank everyone for their advice on putting her in her car seat at night. We tried it for the first time last night and it worked great, she even put herself to sleep in it after her 2am feeding! Assuming this continues to work, I am going to have to learn to sleep through all her noises. I forget how much noise they make in their sleep, I'm pretty sure they don't make that much noise when they are sleeping on you or maybe I'm just not as jumpy about it because they are sleeping right on me? But I really enjoy having my bed to myself so cross your fingers this continues to work!

It has been a long week. I'll blog about all of that later. First, pictures from Cassie and Adam's wedding. Here's the beautiful bride dancing a swing with her grandfather.

The girls and Max dancing the night away. Left to Right, Cristie, Rosie, Ashley, Liz, Shannon, Jodie, Max, Me, Katie.

Max and Lyla, the only 2 cousins for the last time. Aren't they cute?

I promise more to come on being a mom to two. As you can imagine it is very busy with lots of new adjustments that we're still working on. Plus a few Dr calls and visits in between!

Max was back to visit us this morning and Dusty snapped some cute pictures of me with my two kiddos. Max was into showing me where her nose and mouth were. Luckily he didn't go for her eyes!

He even was going in and kissing her, although it was usually on her clothes since he couldn't reach her face.

After a couple minutes he pushed her away from him and tried to push her off of me too. He wasn't aggressive, just letting me know that he was done playing with her and wanted to go back to Max and Mom time. I was fine with that, I was just happy he would finally come and sit with me since he was too scared to yesterday, and I was very pleased that he was interested in his new baby sister even for just a short while. I know I wanted to push my younger sisters away once in a while too so I'd say he's a pretty normal little guy.

I still have some photos to post of Cassie and Adam's wedding. Especially a couple cute ones of Lyla and Max when they were the only cousins. I danced my booty off at their wedding in hopes it would help get the baby out and 6 hours later we were on our way to the hospital to deliver Rory so I better make sure to post a couple pictures. Stay tuned for those.

Lorelei May Cochran showed up at 7:56am. She weighed in at 7 lbs 12.5 oz and she was 20.5 inches long. Take a peek at our adorable baby girl!

We plan to call her Rory for short and Max was already giving her kisses when he came to visit us. I'll post more later and I promise better pictures to come!

I have my computer back and I believe it is up and running like normal now. Whoo-hoo!

As if that wasn't enough exciting news I have very exciting baby news! When I saw the Dr. on Tuesday he scheduled me to go to the hospital next Tuesday, Sept. 22nd, to get induced. Now there is always the chance this baby will decide to show up on its own before then, and there is also a chance that I will not be able to be induced on that Tuesday. If the hospital is full or they have some sort of health reason they will not induce me that day so don't start marking your calendars for a birthday that may or may not be. Needless to say I am very happy with this news, the only thing that would have made it better would have been if he would have induced me earlier, I'm ready to be done.

So the next posting could very well be the introduction of our newest family member, stay tuned!

Finally a chance to update! My computer is currently getting repaired from some spyware and I'm stuck using my old laptop which is very restricted in what it can do. I've had some adorable pictures to post of Max when we were at the farm for dinner Wednesday night. (Dusty's Uncle Jeff and Auntie Cyd's house.) Dusty took him over to the pasture to feed the calves and helped him maneuver the electric fence.
Seriously, is there anything cuter?

We finally made it to Como! Dusty and I had planned to go fishing today with Max on the boat but unfortunately we were not able to get break pads for the truck in time so we decided it would be a good day to go to the Zoo. We got there right when it opened so we got a good parking spot and beat a large portion of the rush. Max was great and was waving to all the animals, it was so cute.

I got my family picture at the turtle which made me really happy and Dusty and I got to kiss at the wishing brick which is right in front of it. I bet you all know what I wished for but I'm not telling in hopes it will come true really soon.

We also visited the conservatory but Max had a reaction to something in there and ended up with a runny nose and swollen itchy eyes so we booked out of there as fast as we could. I was hoping to cheer Max up by taking him for a carousel ride. We did start out on a horse but the carousel went really fast and Max wasn't a fan of that so we moved to the stationary seats and he did much better.
We went home after the ride, leaving around noon when it really started to get crowded so it worked out really well for us. I can't wait to go back once this baby gets out. Labor Day has been a tease so far this year.

All of Max's marks: The middle of his forehead and his nose are from when he fell off the curb at the church, his left side mark is from when he fell off the sculpture and if you look closely you'll see a little mark on his right side from where the door got him when I was shutting it, it doesn't show up well on my camera. Happy Labor Day Max!
Yesterday we attended a wedding and the reception was at the Conservatory by the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Needless to say I had a little fun taking some pictures by the Spoonbridge and Cherry. Here's one of Katie (I have to learn how to adjust the focus on my camera as you can tell...) And I love this one of Katie and Max kissing:
It was a beautiful day too bad Max had to fall right before going into the church so he has a big scrape on his nose and forehead. Then he fell later that day on one of the sculptures to add another big mark on his head and to top it all off I accidentally hit him on the other side of his head with his bedroom door this morning and gave him yet another mark. I'll try to get a picture of this beat up kid later, he's napping now and I'd rather let him sleep after all our activities yesterday!

I visited with the doctor yesterday and he thought the baby would show up that night. Well it is the following morning and there is no baby! So now I'm on a mission to get this labor started. I want to meet the little guy/gal and get started with a family of 4 to manage. Yes, I'm positive I will be complaining about wanting that later, for now it is what I want though. (And to get my body back to myself again.) If you have any good tips to get this baby out please add a comment and let me know. Thanks!
