We skipped the fireworks last night. There was a big thunderstorm headed our way and we didn't want to be stuck on the boat when it hit. So naturally, the storm never came, but the kids were fine with a bonfire instead; it had been a long hot day.

The kids and I went tubing together on one tube. It got us out and moving with a nice refreshing boat ride. Although 20 minutes from start to finish and my thighs were on fire from squatting on the tube. Not to mention my sore chin from Rory slamming into it every time we hit a wave!

We took the pontoon out for another ride later in the day and it just got too hot so we had to stop and let the kids jump in to cool off. Seriously, who gets too hot on a boat ride?! It's crazy how warm it's been.

With this extra warm weather we've been taking movie breaks in the middle of the day to get out of the sun. (I'm so glad we have air conditioning at Grandma and Bopa's!) Daddy's been enjoying the cuddles too.

And of course, there is always ice cream to help cool us off!

No fireworks on the 4th this year for us, but I think we're doing just fine without them.
