Just a few funny and cute stories to share today, enjoy.
Today the kids and I had to run a bunch of errands, one of them was to the doctor's office so that I could get my allergy shot. There are elevators there and when Max walked passed them he asked, "Mama, I want to ride the alligator!" Needless to say he got a few chuckles from people around us.
We call Max, Buddy, on a pretty regular basis. Dusty started it when he was itty bitty and it's just stuck. Well, Rory has officially picked up on our terms of endearment around here. Not only will you hear her talking to her babies and calling them Sweetie, but she now calls Max, Buddy, too. It is adorable the way she says it too. It's usually something along the lines of a question to Max. Take for today, she asked Max, "You want to come too Bud-dy?" I melt every time she calls him Buddy, it's just so adorable!
We also stopped at the grocery store and our local Cub Foods has the toddler carts that are made for little kids to push around. Max loves getting to push his own cart and picking out and putting items into it. Usually he sticks pretty close and I occasionally have to remind him that I didn't say we needed some item he reaches for. (Usually a snack food, rarely a vegetable - shocker I know.) So imagine my surprise today when we got to the checkout counter and he unloaded a can of spray-on Canola Oil. He holds it up to my face all triumphant and says with big eyes, "We need this, right Mama?" How can a girl say no to that?! He was so proud to find something we needed all on his own. So we now have the can sitting in the cupboards to be used, right next to the spray-on olive oil can we rarely use...
I also have a couple library stories, you know, things that have been keeping us entertained.
The library closest to us has aimed their summer story time towards the school aged children, so we don't attend as it's just too advanced for such small children but they have this awesome summer reading program still in place for the small kids. They each got stickers and sticker charts, every 15 minutes they read they get to put a sticker on their chart. Not only is that fun for them, but based on the number of stickers they put on it they get coupons to local businesses. Things like free ice cream cones, money off at a local pizza joint, all sorts of cool things. It's been a ton of fun setting the timer, reading for 15 minutes and then running to put the stickers on their sticker chart and counting our way up to our first prize!
We've also been visiting another local library as they have story hour aimed for smaller children and this one has far surpassed the story hours we had been doing. They have puppets, musical instruments, dancing and singing to keep the kids entertained between stories. My kids are in love with it which makes me happy. Another nice thing about visiting this library too is that we have more books to choose from and since it's been so rainy and cold it's been a great way to entertain the kids. Hopefully summer decides to show its face soon so we can enjoy those ice cream cones once we've earned them!
